Recovery

Over the past few years coaching from Personal Training to Climbing Coaching, we have noticed a trend across all age groups.

People just aren’t recovering as well as they could be. the training is easy, just turn up and perform. We have a set time and a place to associate our actions with our results. What ends up happening is that we often have more going out of the tank than we are putting into it.

So how do we create better practices during all those hours that we aren’t training? By making these practices measurable and our inputs qualitative and quantifiable. We believe that with the help of leading nutritionists such as Amanda Watts (Thrive Nutrition) and experts in sleep we could come up with a simple way to measure both your inputs and outputs. We want to increase your capacity for performance, reduce the risk of over - training, reduce the risk of injury from fatigue and Illness, and ensure that we stay healthier for both our home life and active life. Better Input = Better Output capacity. Better recovery = Better training

This awareness tool takes 60 seconds before training to begin to create an image of your lowest hanging fruit. It highlights what action you can take at home to improve your performance or reduce the risk of injury. 25 points is hard to get but that’s the point, if you want to train hard you must recover harder. Aim for at least 20/25 recovery points.

How does it work?

Each category has criteria that must be met to be awarded points. Download our Google sheet and click the checkboxes to automatically calculate your recovery points, or have a play with the tool below. We recommend recording at least a 6 week training block of 3 sessions to identify where you can put some effort to recover better and get stronger, faster and healthier.
